Thursday's Things I Love.

I love to browse thee ol' internet for beautiful things. I fall in love too quickly. Here are some wonderful little items that I would love to get my hands on. My Thursday blogs will entirely be dedicated to: Things I Love. Here is my first post.

This adorable little jumper is to die for. I would love to wear this with either a black and white striped shirt underneath and black cowboy boots or maybe even a little lace white see through blouse with brown cowboy boots. Oh so lovely!

This dress is so dreamy to me. I love the plain and simple color and the hint of renaissance in it.

This cries Texas Blue Skies, BBQ, Going to a show, Brunchin', Drinking Beer Outdoors in it. I love the polka dots and the cut out sleeves. I could see myself wearing this everywhere and loving it to death.

Sigh, Need I say more.

I would love to be able to crawl into this bed each and every night until eternity.

Music Monday

A tiny little cold front blew in South Texas overnight. It feels good to wear a light sweater again. All my windows in the house are open. I couldn't pass up the chance. I'm doing a lot of work online today and I made a playlist to keep me company during the day. I thought I would share. Enjoy! <3

Sweet Sweet Saturday

“Sweet Springtime is My Time is Your Time is Our Time for Springtime is Love Time and Viva Sweet Love.”

  - e.e. cummings

Spring Cleaning is in full effect in the Deer Love House. I still have two full closets to go thru and rearrange. Talk about a rigorous workout. I still have to put up all the winter stuff: blankets, electric heaters, sweaters  too. Spring is in full bloom in Texas. Blue Skies, Bright Yellow Sun,  Almost 90 degree weather.  Did I mention I have my A.C. on in the house? I just had to. My house is such an old little house that it gets pretty stuffy and humid in here really quick. I wish I had a tall glass of lemonade right now. Sigh, I don't. Instant Tea will have to do. Here's one of my favorite spring songs.

Milk Maid Braids

Lately I have been throwing around the idea of Milk Maid Braids. I can't do them on myself anymore because I recently cut all my hair off but since then I cannot seem to get my mind off of them. Take today for instance, while rummaging around my closet for what to wear I decided on a lovely vintage peasant/boho dress. I threw on a pair of cowboy boots to complete the outfit but it still left me feeling a little dull. I knew what was missing, MY HAIR! It's so short now and boyish and so cute too but I missed my side ponytail and little braids, and well my LONG HAIR. Finally this crazy idea popped in my head. First for the record I am a hairstylist. I did go to school and graduate from cosmetology so I'm already one up on my crazy idea. After thorough investigation via google and etsy I noticed what I wanted to do hasn't really been done. My crazy idea is Milk Maid Braids for all hair. Short, Long, Mid-Length, Bobs, Pageboys, Curly Hair, basically anyone who wants a new creative lovely look for the Spring and Summer. I am going to buy hair extensions in all different types of colors. Human Hair and Synthetic Hair of course. Your choice. I will cut them, pre braid them, add little clippings at the end, make some headband ones, make some that just tie in the back with ribbon, add some with flowers and baby's breath, some with playful colors. How easy would it be to just put on a Milk Maid Headband and have the braids you've always wanted. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about. I'm logging off now to sketch out some ideas. Have a lovely day!

My Tuesday.

Let's go back a day really quick. Yesterday I decided to try the sushi rolls at Pho Sure and I have to say they were quite delicious. I just had to snap a pic of my food. Look at how yummy they look.

Today has been another "food" day. I got invited to eat some yummy thai food with friends for lunch. After eating half of my tofu pad thai I was stuffed. It got me thinking how much I missed being a vegetarian. I had gone two days without eating any type of meat and I didn't even notice. I also noticed how much better I felt those two days and how I didn't have that bloated over eating feeling. In the past two days, I had also subsituted water instead of diet coke for my meals and it was something I did not do intentionally either. My mind seems to be "in control" as of late. After I left the Thai Restaurant I decided to go grocery shopping. I stayed away from the sweets aisle, I even managed to duck the chips aisle as well. I bought delicious greens, some healthy fruits and lots of vegetarian options for myself in hopes of eliminating all meat products from my fridge. As soon as I got home I had this overwhelming feeling like, I Got This. So I have to decided to embark on a vegetarian journey to become a healthier me. I also need to discipline myself that exercise is not an enemy but a friend. The biggest obstacles I have are cigarettes and alcohol. Another double elimination coming soon. I feel so good about myself right now. When I look in the mirror these days I no longer see an unhappy, unnoticeable figure staring back at me. I see the old Rose staring back at me with a smirk on my lips and a fire in my eyes. I'm back. It's true what they say, the best feeling you can ever have is loving yourself. I love myself again. I missed me so much. So happy to be back.

Monday is my Fun Day

Last week was such a busy little week for me. I'm such a bad blogger. Tisk, Tisk, Me. Thankfully, Today starts a new week and I promised myself to at least blog once a day. I did manage to cram in some fun last week on St. Patrick's Day. This was my view at The Friendly Spot.
I also managed to sneak in a much needed haircut and ended up cutting off 9 inches of my hair. It felt so good and liberating. I'm enjoying short hair again. It suits me perfectly.
Today is filled with updating my Etsy with new items and I'm having Pho for lunch with a friend then off to the movies to see Paul. No case of the Monday's today, just much needed fun. Let's go.

Oh So Lovely Sunday!

I decided to spend a weekend with my mum and dad. The house is so quiet this week because my brother took his little family to California for Spring Break. My other sister and brother went skiing in New Mexico and Colorado for their Spring Break so here I am visiting my parents. I decided to go thru old photo albums. I found this cute pic of me and my sister and brothers with my mum in Italy. I'm the wee little baby. So adorable this picture.

Tell All Thursday

Woe is  me. I've been stuck in bed with the flu most of this week. I haven't felt this awful in years. From the tip of my head to to the bottom of my little toes, everything hurts, I mean EVERYTHING. Yesterday I attempted to fight this flu back but I got in the shower and could not even finish showering, my flu won. Thankfully this morning my flu was quite kind to me and let me take a long hot shower. Thank You Flu. I still feel completely terribly horrendously ill but thankfully this lovely Texas weather makes the best scenery and distraction from being indoors in a germ infested house with two grumpy cats that are angry because momma is too sick to cuddle with them. Can I just get back to normal please?

P.S. This little lovely lady was kind enough to come over after a hard day's work yesterday and bring me a slice of cheese pizza and keep me company for a bit while I was sick. I love her to death for that. I have the most amazing friends.

Happy Monday

Love.

This song sums up my little life right now. It brings tears to my eyes every time.

And I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck
And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again
